Well, I made it through the big crafter sale on Saturday. It took two trips to get all my stuff over there (and one of those was in a friend's mini van), but I managed to get the leftovers into our wagon. I made several hundred dollars (which obviously I'm quite excited about!!) but now I still need to decide how to liquidate the rest. And on a funny note, I met a lovely lady who just moved here from Jersey. We were chatting and she mentioned that she'd had a hard time finding stampers/scrappers in this area. I asked her where she lived - and nearly dropped my Diet Coke when she named our section in L-town. Yep, I drove 25 minutes to meet someone who lives 1/2 block away.
So this week I'm just focusing on reclaiming our house. Things fell seriously behind due to all my furious sorting last week, and I've done 7 loads of laundry and run the dishwasher twice since yesterday afternoon. I also went grocery shopping and ran errands.
In addition, I'm starting some new medication tomorrow. Last month, I went in for my LOOOONG overdue general check-up, and the doctor ordered bloodwork. Turns out that I have some thyroid issues, which helps explain why I'm dragging so much and not having much luck taking weight off. Obviously nothing is going to change overnight, but it's kind of nice to know that there's actually a physiological reason for the way I've been feeling lately.
So this leads me to my "mommy nudge" for the week: Ladies, make sure that you're taking care of yourself!! I'll bet your kids have been getting all their regularly scheduled check-ups. Are you?

Wow, several hundred dollars?? That's awesome! So....whatcha gonna do with the cash?? (buy more stamp stuff!) :)
First of all, WOW! Thats a lot of stuff! Congrats on being able to part with it. Second, Thyroid is GOOD. I have hypothyroidism and it really can mess you up. Its hard to find a good thyroid doc, but once you do you will notice lots of changes if thats what it is. Let me know how it goes!
No, definitely not buying more stamps (although I must admit that I spent $3 there!). There are some things that we're still working on paying off, so the proceeds are going straight to that... Oh, and I also celebrated by buying a spiffy new can opener and griddle :) See, I know how to live it up!!
$3 - great self control! How's the Thyroid medication working out? Seeing/feeling any changes? Thanks for the reminder to take care of ourselves because if we don't who will and how will our household be taken care of?
I haven't noticed all that much of a change from the meds yet, but it hasn't even been a month yet. They started me on the very lowest dose (.25 mg daily), and I go for follow-up bloodwork after six weeks, and they'll start adjusting from there.
