Holy Schnikees!!

So last night I ran errands - headed to Payless for the BOGO to pick up some sneakers for myself and our daughter (who's feet are suddenly catching up with the rest of her!) Well, I pull into the shopping area, and notice quite a bit of smoke coming from the parking lot, a few rows over. I didn't think all that much of it at first - I figured someone just had radiator problems or something. As I pulled in to park, though, I suddenly saw a big ol' burst of flame, followed by steady burning and billowing smoke. YIKES! I pulled back out and actually drove around the other side of the building to wait until it was contained - my hubby later picked on me as I told him what happened ("Cars don't explode like in the movies!") but I figured it was better safe than sorry. The shopping center is right next to the volunteer fire department, so I knew it wouldn't be long. Sure enough, as I was pulling to the side of the building, the sirens on the truck came on and it came charging across the street. I waited a couple minutes, then proceeded on with my shopping. When I came out of the store, there were still several emergency vehicles and many people standing around discussing the fire.

But what is it with people?!? I couldn't believe how many people were standing only 10-15 feet away, watching the shooting flames. Even worse, some of them had children with them! I do find fire fascinating, but what happened to a healthy dose of fear? I just don't get it...

In other news, I found out yesterday that the new crown I need won't be covered. I'm so frustrated with this! I can't help but think about the tropical island we could have purchased in lieu of all the junk in my mouth. I had a pounding headache after speaking with the dentist's office, insurance, etc. and at this point I'm half tempted to just have them yank the thing out. Lord, I need a healthy dose of patience! (But I'd prefer the instant plan, as opposed to this current method of actually developing it)

so is the dentist at least going to waive his fees? I'm sorry you have all these complications... I knwo what you're going thru.

Yikes is right about your car. I'm with you, I don't get people either?? I would have been waaaaaayyyy away from it, probably yelling to one of the crazy people 10 feet away to tell me what was going on. ;)

Back from the dentist and my checkbook is still hurting. They "only" charged me the approved insurance rate, but it was still A LOT. Guess the plan to replace our windows will be pushed back again.

And thankfully it wasn't our car - I must admit that seeing the other car on fire last night did make me stop and think that we really do need to be thankful for our vehicles!!

A healthy dose of fear is definitley lacking lately!!! I'm gald you're okay (fire speaking) and I'm sorry for the extra cost of the attatchments in your mouth. We just had to pay for Judson's last set of tubes - ouch!!! Thank fully we got some help and one doctor waived his fee.

I often wondered myself what would be more cost effective and better...to keep fixing a tooth or to just pull it out. My brother-in-law who is just 32 opted for the second option and got all his teeth pulled out. He doesn't look very pretty as he didn't get false teeth to replace his real ones, but at least he doesn't have to worry about flossing or brushing his teeth now or even future dental bills ;) DearHubby is prone to those huge dental jobs too, so I completely understand the whole financial frustration with dental work and even having to push back home improvement projects. It's even more frustrating when a job on a tooth has to be repeated and then you get charged for it. RRR...Yeah, I'll definitely be praying for your patience and even wisdom for the best course of action!
