It's Not About Happiness

I want to share this article from Marriage Partnership, a great follow-up to "Three Secrets that Victoria Will Never Understand."

"I struggle to obey the apostle Peter's words: 'Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing' (1 Peter 3:9). Becoming holy hurts, because I see how unlike Jesus I really am." -Elaine Creasman

Great article! I think after a while it's easy to get very inwardly focused on why you are not happy and why you are not being satisfied. Most of the time when I start my "pity party" I realize that when I focus on God and when I look for ways to make Mike happy, life goes much smoother (is that a word?). Mike tells the kids that their job is to try and make everyone else happy, not themselves. Then they have seven other people trying to make them happy instead of one. Before that sounds like people-pleasing, the goal is to still have God be your focus, not other's opinions of you.

Still thinking on your first post. I'll need to come back to this one too.
